Ukrainian captions in short

Crayo transcribes Ukrainian speech and adds animated captions to short clips from podcasts, streams and interviews. It is for Ukrainian podcasters, streamers and clippers at home and across the diaspora who post captioned vertical clips to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Ukrainian-language media has grown enormously, with interview podcasts, news talk and comedy shows recording long episodes and a streamer community that has moved firmly to Ukrainian. Clips reach a TikTok and Instagram audience at home and millions of Ukrainians now living in Poland, Germany, Canada and the United States, where captions keep the content accessible on a muted commute.

Ukrainian is written in Cyrillic with letters Russian does not use, such as і, ї, є and ґ, and without the Russian ы and ё. Speech may mix in Russian words, and auto detection can confuse the two languages, so pick Ukrainian explicitly in the language picker. Crayo transcribes the speech as Ukrainian when selected; names and borrowed words are the lines to check in the caption list.

A practical tip: Cyrillic words are a little wider than Latin ones, so two to three words per caption keeps text large, and a caption style with a strong highlight on the active word helps viewers follow fast interview exchanges. Preview the style on the clip to see how its font renders Ukrainian letters before exporting.
