Thai captions in short

Crayo transcribes Thai speech and adds animated captions to short clips from podcasts, streams and interviews. It is for Thai creators, streamers and clippers who post captioned vertical clips to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

Thailand is one of the most TikTok-active countries in the world, and Thai podcasts, talk shows and gaming streamers produce long recordings that clippers cut for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Thai viewers are used to heavy on-screen text from variety shows, so captioned clips feel native rather than added.

Thai is written in its own script with no spaces between words and no capital letters, with vowel signs placed above, below, before or after consonants and tone marks stacked above. Line breaks must fall at word boundaries that the script does not mark, so caption segmentation matters more than in most languages. Crayo transcribes the speech into Thai script when selected; names, English loanwords and particles are the lines to check in the caption list.

A practical tip: Thai needs extra vertical room for the stacked vowel and tone marks, so choose a caption style with generous line height, keep each caption short, and preview it on the clip before export because the fonts differ across the 32 styles and the marks need a clean rendering at phone size.
