Macedonian Auto Captions

Macedonian short-form content comes mostly from Skopje, where podcast interviews, comedy shows and music channels produce long recordings, with a diaspora in Australia, Switzerland and Germany following along. Clips travel on TikTok and Instagram Reels, and captions help them reach neighbouring Bulgarian and Serbian speakers who read Cyrillic easily.

Macedonian is written in Cyrillic with letters that neither Russian nor Serbian uses in the same way, such as ѓ, ќ, ѕ, љ and њ. Speech often borrows from Serbian and English, and transcription may spell those borrowings differently from the speaker.
