Kazakh captions in short

Crayo transcribes Kazakh speech and adds animated captions to short clips from podcasts, interviews and streams. It is for Kazakh-language creators and media teams who post captioned vertical clips to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

Kazakh-language content has grown fast as Kazakhstan's young population shifts to Kazakh-first media, with interview podcasts, comedy shows and streamers in Almaty and Astana producing long recordings. TikTok and Instagram are the main short-form platforms, and YouTube Shorts carries the longer interview clips.

Kazakh is currently written in Cyrillic with nine extra letters that Russian does not use, such as ә, ғ, қ, ң, ө, ұ, ү and һ, while a transition to a Latin alphabet is still under way. Speech also mixes Kazakh and Russian within a conversation. Crayo transcribes Kazakh into Cyrillic when selected, and choosing it explicitly rather than auto detect avoids the transcript coming back as Russian.

A practical tip: the extra Kazakh letters have small distinguishing marks, so use a caption style with large, heavy text and preview it on the clip before exporting to confirm the font renders those letters clearly. Two to three words per caption keeps Kazakh readable on a phone.
