TikTok launched it as Creativity Program Beta and renamed it Creator Rewards, shifting the payout basis from raw views to qualified views: original content over a minute long that meets search value, audience engagement, and play duration criteria. That change is why the same view count can pay very differently between two accounts.

Approximate eligibility as of 2026 is around 10,000 followers, about 100,000 video views in the previous 30 days, an age of at least 18, a personal account in good standing, and residence in one of the supported countries. These numbers shift, and availability by country changes, so the in app monetization page is the only reliable source.

The nuance is what does not qualify. Videos under one minute, duets and stitches, reuploaded or heavily borrowed content, and clips flagged as unoriginal are excluded, which catches many clipping accounts by surprise. Earnings per thousand qualified views also vary widely by region and by how long people actually stay.

In practice creators who target this program build clips that run just over the minute mark, with a payoff late enough to hold play duration rather than front loaded. Most then treat the payout as one income line among several, alongside brand deals and clipping campaigns, because rates move without notice.
